Does Video Length Effect Price?

Yes, but maybe not in the way you think.
At Eighteen02 Media we commonly get asked for “A quick two minute video to promote our business”.

Longer videos tend to need more time for pre-production like script writing, location scouting, concept design, story boarding and of course editing, which can lead to higher costs, outside the obvious one of someone stood with a camera.

But in reality the length of the final video isn’t what determines price. You can have a simple video which lasts twenty minutes, with little input needed from the production company with planning, is filmed in one location in an hour with a one person crew, and needs a basic edit. Which will be priced in the £500 – £1500 range.

Or you can have a one minute video which has multiple lines of dialogue, five different locations that takes four days to film needing a crew of six, VFX, extra sound design and actors that could be in the £5-10,000 range.

So when looking for a video for your company, it is best to know exactly what your budget is, then jump on a discovery call with a production company and they will help tailor the video or video package to suit the budget you have.
